My daily ride is a full suspension Mountainbike but I was looking for a small and lightwight bike for traveling. Then I found the ADO Bikes which looked very cool and interesting. So I decided to go to a local shop for a testride and was impressed about the bikes. It was a few days before the official announcement of the ADO Carbon Air Pro, so I only could ride the former Carbon version and the Air 20 Pro witch has the same two gear hub used in the Carbon Pro model. The Air 20 Pro was realy stiff and the suspension fork of this model makes rides a bit more comfortable and the shifting hub was nice to ride. Sadly the weight oft the Alu model was a bit too high for traveling. So I tested the "non Pro" Carbon version and was a little bit sceptical about the stiffness of Carbon in comparsion to Aluminium while I'm a rider near to the max load level of this bike. Truely, it felt a bit softer and not as rigid as the Alu Version, so I became a little bit doubt what will the Pro Version be. After all I decided to order the Carbon Pro because of the mixing of the lightwight frame with the automatic gear hub. That must be a good combination. 😉 And I don't regret it. The lightwight frame is optimal for traveling and the gear hub is realy comfortly to ride. In the fastest mode ( Sport 3 or if you change to 5 stages Sport 5 ) the front wheel slightly left the streets a little bit if you push the padels to the limit 😄 The motor is so powerful and pushes you straight forward so that it realy makes fun to ride this bike. The gear shifts automatically and smooth so that you sometimes not even recognize that it was changed. That's a big Pro.
Sadly my early bird version came without the stand. Hopefully I can get one as spare part the next few weeks in the store. The second con are the tires. Don't get me wrong, they are good quality but the size of 47-406 ( 20 * 1,75 ) are realy small and therefore a little bit hard. So I ordered new tires in 53-406 ( 20 * 1,95 ) which hopefully still fit in to the front fork and will give me a smoother ride with a bit more comfort while there is no suspension on the bike. At least I wish I could fit some 57-406 ( 20 * 2,2 ) tires in there for maximum comfort, but I didn't changed the tires yet. I think that could be a big plus in future models to fit bigger tires in there while missing the suspension. Surely I'm realy spoiled of my full suspension daily ride, therefore I'm searching for a little bit more comfort 😉 But after all, it's a great bike and it's fun to ride. My collegues are also very impressed of this tiny and powerful bike after a short testride 😅 First they all played circus music and where laughing at me as I arrived at work for the first time with this tiny bike, but after a testride they where realy impressed 😅👍🏻
The inbuild headlight could be a bit stronger and I didn't figure out how to adjust them a bit, yet. Maybe an other suggestion for improvement to future models ? The rearlight is perfektly visible, bright and also integrated into the rack.
At least the brakes are well dimensioned and they working realy good for such a lightwight and tiny bike.
I appreciate your work you did on the Carbon Pro model. There is only slightly minimal room for improvements in further models and my criticisms are only highlevel and the top of the iceberg. After all I have to say "Well done ADO 👍🏻" !
Enjoy your ride
